Impact report launch: Care After Prison celebrates transformed lives
Impact report launch Care After Prison celebrates transformed lives
On Wednesday 18 November, Care After Prison hosted a very successful Impact Report Launch at the Carmelite Community Centre on Aungier Street. 75 guests saw the Lord Mayor launch the report, which outlines the positive impact our services have made to the lives of people affected by imprisonment. The Lord Mayor was very impressed with the work that we do and said that, “there can be no better way to approach the subject of offending and re-offending than using the successful remedy employed by Care After Prison.” Guests had the opportunity to listen to speeches by Simon Rees, Care After Prison chairman, the Director of Services, Gerard Moore, a service user, and the Lord Mayor herself.
We were very pleased to welcome our service users, representatives from the Irish Prison Service and the Probation Service, peer agencies, many corporate and individual supporters, and our board and team. We were delighted that Bishop Eamonn Walsh, David Stanton TD and Director General of the Irish Prison Service Michael Donnellan attended. David Stanton TD was particularly impressed with our service and said, “Care After Prison has made a real difference to many lives and communities since the day it started. I am very impressed with the impact report and would encourage others to support this worthy organisation”. We would like to express our deep gratitude to all our guests for their support and to everybody who worked behind the scenes to made this happen. We are looking forward to supporting our service users and seeing hope prevail in the years to come.
