Community Support Worker (Part-Time/ 20 Hours)

Location: Dublin 2 (office) and all prisons

Days: Flexible however Friday morning is obligatory.

Reporting to: Team Leader and Service Manager

Contract: Fixed term contract until 31/12/2019.

Care After Prison is a national peer-led criminal justice charity dedicated to changing the lives of people who have been affected by imprisonment. We work with a range of women and men who are on temporary release, currently in prison or who have formerly offended.

Our team works hard to provide a range of services to our clients, whilst working closely with their families. We believe we can create safer communities and create opportunities for change by preparing our clients with the skills they need to positively re-enter society.

We’re Hiring:

The purpose of the role is to engage with and manage a case load of clients both in prison and in the community, supporting and facilitating the removal of barriers to re-integration into society of individuals who have been affected by imprisonment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support Working and Care Planning;
  • Support those throughout sentences and on remand;
  • Community Voluntary Programme: Pre-sentencing support, agree care plans, support in the development of the programme;
  • Record keeping.

This is a fixed-term contract until 31 December 2019, and may be extended provided the requisite funding has been obtained.
